The right lower lobe (RLL) is the largest of the three lobes in the right
lung, located in the lower portion of the chest cavity, beneath the
right middle lobe and extending down to the diaphragm. It is
separated from the other lobes by the oblique fissure and consists
of five bronchopulmonary segments: the superior, medial basal,
anterior basal, lateral basal, and posterior basal segments. The RLL
anatomical position makes it susceptible to conditions like
pneumonia, atelectasis, and pulmonary embolism.
