Normal and Erosive Osteoarthritis
The normal X-ray image of the hand on the left is compared to the hand on the right with severe erosisve osteoarthtritis characterized by joint loss, osteophytic change erosive change and overlying soft tissue swelling. The distal interphalangeal joints (DIPs) are more severely affected than the proximal interphalangeal joints (PIPs)
