Partially Duplicated Collecting System and Column of Bertin

US Left Kidney – Partially Duplicated Collecting System and Column of Bertin
US of the left kidney in a 38year old female shows separation of the renal sinus fat by a column of Bertin reminiscent of a duplicated collecting system. The kidney measured 11.8cms which is large for a female.

Neonate

2 Month old presents with an abdominal mass and a cystic abnormality of the left kidney on ultrasound. US in the longitudinal plane of the right kidney shows a normal kidney with normal corticomedullary differentiation. It measures 7cms which is enlarged and likely reflecting compensatory hypertrophy. (normal at this age 4-5cms)
Final diagnosis was multicystic dysplastic left kidney and normal right kidney
