Mitral Valve |
The most beautiful feature of the LA (in my opinion of course) is its view of the anterior leaflet of the mitral valve through the annulus. To see the chordae and the sail of the anterior leaflet biphasically flap-flapping must be a sight to behold. Mitral and Tricuspid Valve |
This diagram shows the thick walled smooth internal features of the left ventricle. There are two consistent sets of papillary muscles which are attached to the free wall of the left ventricle. It is also important to note that the anterior leaflet of the mitral valve has intimate contact with the base of the aortic valve. It can thus function as part of both the inflow as Courtesy of Ashley Davidoff M.D. 32125 |

26061c09.41k.8s The artistic rendition of a normal venogram (a) and a vein with DVT (red b) is shown. The innocent appearing thrombus in the distended vein is a life threatening entity. Note that the thrombus allows some contrast to pool at the valve( white contrast in the cusps of the valve in b) as well as on the left side of the vein creating a tram-track like appearance. code vein DVT thrombus deep vein thrombosis valves cusps Davidoff art Courtesy Ashley DAvidoff MD copyright 2009 All rights reserved |
