There are different types of TAPVR based on the abnormal connections:

  1. Supracardiac TAPVR: The pulmonary veins drain into a common vein called the vertical vein, which then connects to the superior vena cava. This is the most common form of TAPVR.

  3. Cardiac TAPVR: The pulmonary veins drain directly into the right atrium or through abnormal connections within the heart.
  4. Infracardiac TAPVR: The pulmonary veins drain into the portal vein, hepatic veins, or the inferior vena cava.
