?And there are days when I feel the urge to do something meaningful. To run workshops for young South Africans needing the sort of skills I teach here. To feel appreciated, needed and contributing to the country that gave me my start in life.? (Sharp)
Eric, Would like to get a more specific sense from you as to how those of us at a distance could be involved in a joint project of some nature. (Sharp)
Great Sam ? you beauty!!!! Thanks for coming back to me on this.
Let?s explore the possibilities?starting with your vision, particular areas of passion and understanding of people?s needs. We can then bounce around various options and develop a specific strategy. My own thoughts are starting to bubble, but would rather the energy and excitement emerge from you to sustain the process?.! (Stillerman)
On the SA involvement side, hope other guys will take up the challenge. A few further thoughts to guide the process:
I think one should link the process with one?s overall Vision ? personally and within one?s career and country ? so the SA side becomes integral to and synergistic with your future development.
I had a thought on the way home that perhaps we could link up ALL ex-SA?s in a global network of mutual development which would be incredibly powerful!!!! BTW with acknowledgements to our Jewish people which has this incredible secret weapon of a global network as highlighted by Israeli and SA Speakers at the Limmud conference.
As you may gather, this is my field ? so you?re watching ?Stillers Strategy in Action!?
In terms of practical operationalisation of the process, don?t worry, just to tease you guys, there are opportunities in every sphere of activity including education, healthcare, housing, property, investment, industry, creative arts and culture, environment, politics, economy and business.
I?m talking productive projects and enterprises ? not philanthropy ? which off course opens up another whole world of options?
By the way, some of this may be confidential business which is ok for the back track. The general ideas would be great to brainstorm together and hopefully come out with some joint initiatives!!!!! (Stillerman)
Looking forward to your responses to the ?Global-SA Initiative? which is emerging here. A way to link Saffers round the world with SA for mutual synergistic development with high-impact!
As this is my line of work, will gladly suggest and facilitate ideas. As discussed with Sam, it is useful to starting off with one?s own personal and career vision linked to a vision for SA ?. May even find a way to link this all into our daily work routine? as an excuse to keep blogging the thread on FB! (Stillerman)
From a practical viewpoint, it would be great to see your connections with SA strengthening generally. More specifically it would awesome if you could link your career and personal development with initiatives in SA.
As you?ll gather, I?m trying to motivate this process as a ?Global ? SA Initiative? which could have great impact on development in SA while bridging the gap in your own existential space. (Stillerman)
