Occupation Nursing and Practice Management
here is a summary of the last 40 years in a nutshell:
Did a B.A. H.Dip.Ed at Wits, then off to London where I taught English for two years at a large Comprehensive Secondary School and did lots of travelling. Returned to JHB, met and married Melvyn Polon (KD ?68) and we migrated to Sydney.
I taught in Sydney for a few years while Melvyn specialised in Paediatrics, then I went to Sydney Uni and completed a degree in Social Work with post-grad training in Couple and Family therapy. We have two children, Josh (23) and Micayla(14).
Melvyn and I split in 2001, and for the next five years I went on a character-building roller-coaster ride.There is still the odd bump to circumnavigate, but life now is generally a lovely smooth ride and I?ve certainly learned to enjoy and appreciate the present.
Am very happily repartnered with a Jewish Australian and work in his practice two days a week.(He?s a surgeon, I do some nursing and practice management duties,but can call on my psychological skills if any patients seem to be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder following surgery!)
