Danny was the owner and managing director of X-Press Graph-X Supplies. He was born in Johannesburg South Africa and was the youngest of 3 children. Danny?s interest and passion in the art and framing industry came from a well established family tradition. His father, who was a commercial artist, started a business called Display Art Supplies over 40 years ago. His brother was also a talented artist.
Danny studied a bachelor of Arts and Education at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. In 1974 Danny married his wife Gill and joined his father in the business. He developed it into a large graphic art and framing business, X-Press Graph-X South Africa.
In January 1992, Danny, Gill and their 3 daughters, Jacqui, Justine and Simonne migrated to Australia. Danny established an extremely successful business and became a key player in the art and framing industry. He embraced his new country in every way. He supported local charities, art foundations and education programs. His commitment to Australian made products was evident in his renowned Multimat mount boards which are manufactured in Melbourne.
He was admired and respected by many and has been described as an ?asset to the industry?. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, who placed the needs of his family above all else.
All who knew him will miss his quirky sense of humour, his passion for art, architecture, gardening and his incredible zest for life.
His legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren and through the contribution he made to the art and framing industry.
