You did ask that I send through some personal info to add to my CV so here goes
After matriculating with you all in 1969, I studied Physio at Wits.
Not too long after starting at Wits, I lost a nephew who had cerebral palsy, and I just felt I couldn?t spend the rest of my life working in a field where at times I would be quite powerless to help, so I left with no idea what else to do.
I won?t bore you with details ? suffice it to say that by default rather than design, I found myself working in the computer industry at a time when no formal training was available though uni- it was all pretty much ?on the job? training.
And how lucky I was to have made that move!
You?ll see from my formal bio that the industry has been good to me, and has taken me around the world.
It is also through the industry that I met and married my second husband ? Michael Frame.
Michael was born in Carlyle in the UK, but was living in South Africa ? though believe it or not, we actually met in a lounge at Heathrow Airport in November 1994, and were both seated next to each other on a flight via Brussels to Johannesburg ? and have been together ever since.
I have two children from my first marriage
· Gavin Morris, who is now 36 years old ? and a father of two beautiful children Leah (aged 13) and Ruben (aged 7), and
· Batya Eaton (nee Morris) who is now 33 years old and about to give birth to a little boy.
Both Gavin and Batya are ex Davidians too.
In 2000, I was lucky enough to have been head hunted, and offered a job in Perth, which is how we come to be living here.
And TG for Jewish Geography and the closeness of our community ? Norman Sandler was first to welcome me in a place where I knew no-one.
And although small ( about 8000), the Perth Jewish Community have truly made us welcome, and enabled us to call Perth ?home?
Sadly, Gavin remained in South Africa but I live in hope that he will join us in Aus.
For now, he is an attorney in private practice in Johannesburg.
I still work in the computer industry and do a lot of work in promoting IT as a career choice for women ? it?s great to give back to the industry that has been so good to me.
I am always grateful for the wonderful schooling we had, and can certainly attribute my success (in part) to that grounding ? the rest was pure hard work!
