        • 2022 Iceland 8 10 Seysdisfjordur Echo Chambers Rainbow Church
        • At the end of a long, sheltered fjord, surrounded by steep dramatic mountains.  Remote, picturesque. The town is known for its colorful wooden buildings, iconic blue church and art scene. Ships dock at modern cruise terminal with wifi, tourist info.  Surrounding scenery is breathtaking. Small village, 30-60 minutes to walk around.  Visited local playground, zipline. Nao hiked a bit into Vestdalur valley, found some sheep.
        • Tvísöngur small sound sculpture ? 1.6 mi walk there and back from dock. Unimpressive

        • On northern coast of Iceland along the picturesque shores of Skjálfandi Bay, a small fishing community that  one of the best whale-watching destinations in the world. Decided to skip whale watching boats and puffin tours only toured around Puffin Island; guests saw birds but couldn?t tell they were penguins.
        • Car rental half day. Drove to see puffins who?d left but saw some whales.
        • On to Asbyrhgi Canyon ? long, steep horseshoe canyon.

          • Thursday night:  walked through town after dinner; colorful homes, into beautiful botanic garden which was open until 10 pm.

        • Horseback riding with small group Hestasports.  Sarah guide from Switzerland.Van to stable with another couple Sarah and Scott from Texas.Icelandic horses small, long manes, tame.  1.5 hour trail ride across river, by waterfall, with classic Irish horse trot called ?Afternoon Nao did yoga in fitness studio with downloaded class while Aso napped.Then amazing cheese festival followed by dinner and shopping to spend OBC.Beautiful rainbow and sunset to follow, then Celtic music with Derek key man.

        • remotely located in northwest Iceland and surrounded by ruggedly beautiful fjords, Isafjordur is surprisingly cosmopolitan. Surrounded on three sides by remarkable mountains jutting upwards around a gorgeous bay, this is one of the most beautiful places you?ll ever visit. Smaller ships will dock at this port, while larger ships will anchor offshore.  The old town on the water is pretty, full of colorful houses with tin roofs, sitting small against the big fishing ships that come in from their expeditions out to sea.Bird watching: Puffins on Vigur Island excursion.  Also rare black gullemot. Many arctic ternsAfternoon walking around town- historic homes from late 19th centuryDinner with Trevor and Ruth Rabie, Arnie and Olivia Ostrin.  White night dancing.

Got in close to midnight. Simple lodging with glacier views.Day 2 rainy in pm. 
      • Glacier Lagoon – iceberg filled glacier lagoon iceberg covered Black Sand Beach.  Just over the bridge stopped at  Fellsfjara iceberg covered black sand beach where LandRover got stuck in sand at water?s edge. Fjadrargljufur Canyon serpentine canyon with walking trail and viewpoints up to top; walked in pouring rain and rubberized suits.Lunch at local restaurant: delicious arctic char and mushroom pasta 

        Way home to Reykjavik:
        Seljalandsfoss   waterfall that we walked behind ?.   Skogafoss powerful waterfall.
